Our Care Services
Respite Care
Windmill House is the perfect place to retreat, recuperate and rehabilitate following an illness, injury or surgery.
We also provide respite care to allow carers take a break for a short or more extended period.
Residential Care
Long term care is designed for residents unable to live independently and need assistance with activities of daily living.
Our focus is to preserve independence through individualised social, recreational, occupational therapy and physiotherapy programmes – enhancing the quality of life of our valued residents.
Dementia Care
Windmill House Care Centre is a community that supports residents with dementia or cognitive impairment.
Our staff work closely with the HSE and other external agencies to ensure that we deliver the highest quality of care, in a manner that is sensitive to our residents’ fundamental and individual needs.
Rehabilitation & Complex Care
Residents with complex care needs are provided with a personalised care plan, which promotes their wellbeing and meets their complex needs. Nurses are trained in intellectual disability, gerontology and psychiatry and all staff are trained to provide specialised care to residents with complex physical, psychological or emotional needs.
Residents’ mental health and wellbeing are promoted through creative and individualised care programmes designed to maximise the resident’s abilities.

Your Care Team
In Windmill House Care Centre, we take great pride that families know their loved ones are in the best hands possible. We see ourselves as an extension of the family.
The Director of Nursing, Edel Noonan, of our home has a dedicated team of staff nurses, healthcare assistants, activity coordinator, physiotherapist, catering and housekeeping staff. Our key focus is to enhance the lives of residents in our care.
Health & Wellbeing
We strive to promote an optimal quality of life through a progressive approach to residents’ social and spiritual care. The Director of Nursing and care staff drive opportunities for intimate and meaningful connections to be built around residents of Windmill House Care Centre within the community we serve.
Social Life
Our unique approach to planning social events starts by finding out what our residents like to do. We encourage and support our residents to continue any hobbies or interests they may have enjoyed before moving to our home.
We arrange individual and group outings into the community and further afield to suit all interests.
Meanwhile, back at Windmill House, there’s always something happening; from arts and crafts, reminiscence therapy, music and dancing to flower arranging, pet therapy, exercise classes and personal care (hair salon and manicures). We also host summer barbecues and family fun days.

Testimonials
My father has been in Windmill House for two years and I can honestly say that the experience has changed both his and my perception of what it is to live in a nursing home. A fantastic team who make the atmosphere that of a large family in a country rural setting.
Windmill House made me feel very welcome. When I first arrived I was very nervous, but that didn’t last long. The staff are very kind and caring. I love all the activities. There is always something going on.
Rooted in Our Community
Windmill House Care Centre can be described as a community within the community. We care for residents from the local area and further afield.
Regular bus outings keep residents closely connected with the community they love and community groups they were involved with prior to moving to our care centre.
